ARK is a federally
recognized 501(c)(3) organization consisting of an all
volunteer network of Spring babies are coming into rehab in great numbers. Be aware that fawns and baby rabbits are not necessarily abandoned because you don't see a mother. These babies are left alone until dusk. Baby birds are starting to fledge which means they leave the nest to learn how to fly. Please do not disturb them and visit our pages for information on whether they are abandoned and need rescue. This spring some unusual colors have shown up in the wildlife.
Also, two baby beavers have come into rehab from Cumberland County to a rehabber in Powhatan.
Along with the intake of wildlife comes the expense of caring for them. The Education Zone has been very busy with programs to earn money and the public has been generous with donations to help with the support that is needed for caring of the wildlife.
