ARK is a federally recognized 501(c)(3) organization consisting of an all volunteer network of
    state and federally
licensed wildlife rehabilitators.  We take in the orphaned and injured native Virginia wildlife for
rehabilitation and release it back into it's natural habitat.

ARK would like to introduce Smithfield the painting pig.  Smithfield will be at Rockwood Nature Center once a month painting and displaying his gallery.  When you purchase his art, some of the proceeds are donated to ARK to help care for Virginia's wildlife.  To read more on Smithfield the pig and his art, visit his website at www.paintingpig.com

Summer is here and a lot of the spring babies are released with some still in preparation for their big day.  Another crop of baby birds, cottontails and opossums are still entering rehab.  The fall baby squirrels will start arriving anytime now.  To date over 1700 animals have come through the doors of the many rehabilitators and our hotline volunteers h
ave handled over 3,000 wildlife calls from the public.
