What is a wildlife rehabilitator?   It is a state and/or federally licensed volunteer who cares for injured and orphaned native Virginia wildlife. They provide the supplies, foods and caging needed for the care of each individual species with the goal of releasing all animals back into their natural habitat.

Who is ARK? We are a network of licensed, independent wildlife rehabilitators who volunteer to care for native Virginia wildlife.  We also have volunteers who help with fund raising, transporting, work our hot line, and numerous other tasks.  We have licensed educators who do programs for the public about the behavior of and coexistence with wildlife in your backyard.

Our mission remains today:  To provide for orphaned and injured native Virginia wildlife with the goal of releasing the animals back into their natural habitat.  In order to insure that our funds go for the animals in our care, we remain adamant that there will be no paid positions within ARK.

ARK is a federally recognized 501(c)(3) organization.  All contributions are tax deductible.  We do not receive funding or help of any kind from government agencies and depend upon public support to care for the animals that come through our doors.
